For many, the thought of a pleated skirt might get you thinking of a school teacher of the 1980’s crossed with Margaret Thatcher. A bit dull, a bit blurgh. Not the case at the moment. The pleated skirt has been edging its way into the forefront of the shop rails since last year and now, in interesting fabrics and finishes, the pleated skirt makes a fun wardrobe addition. Here are some which may get you thinking about just maybe, giving it a go.
Lace pleated skirt by Marks & Spencer – this skirt teamed with a soft polo neck sweater would be perfect for a Sunday lunch as well as work for an evening out with a pussy bow shirt.
Black and white midi skirt by Reiss – this would work for the office or slammed up with a tuxedo style jacket.
Pink metallic pleat skirt by Whistles – on trend pink in a fabulous bright metallic and in the sale!
Gold metallic pleated skirt by Topshop – showing how to style metallic for day with a softly structured knit.
Black velvet pleated skirt by Zara – a more evening offering in luxurious velvet.
Lame pleated midi skirt by Jil Sander – I love how the skirt has been styled here. A bit sexy whilst still being casual (just swap the heels for sneakers).
Layered pleated skirt by River Island – a soft style which will see you well into summer.
Crushed velvet pleated skirt by H&M – I love the soft, almost rose gold hue of this skirt. So pretty.
