Hullabaloo Prints is a children’s lifestyle brand which aims to bring magical prints and designs to items which are not only of good quality but are useful and practical for mums. The label was started by friends Amy and Emma in 2015 who met through their husbands who were both in the British Army. They soon discovered they both shared a passion for hand-crafted textiles and wanted to bring this element to children’s lifestyle pieces and, the recent addition clothing.
Their visits to Jaipur inspired the use of the traditional Indian method of hand block printing which produces unique designs, with no two pieces being the same. Each piece is unique to the owner.
We were lucky to be sent a Hullabaloo Prints large muslin (available here) and a couple washcloths to encourage to properly wash their faces as opposed to their typical “wiping my face on my sleeve counts as clean” (available here). I have to say, the balloon print is my favourite print out of all the designs and is available in a blue or pink colour way. The large muslin has also proved to be very versatile from acting as a sheet when the nights were so warm, to an impromptu picnic blanket and even the makings of a den.
The fabric is beautifully soft and becomes softer with washing. The bright colours have a muted affect being block printed which gives each design a charming quality. The same prints and fabrics have been used to create a Hullabaloo Prints wardrobe for little ones for up to age 3, available here (I wish they went up in age as I think the shirt and shorts are perfect Summer pieces for my boys and the dresses are just adorable!).
