Now I know we are enjoying warm weather at the moment but with blue skies often come chilly mornings and with the temperatures set to drop as Autumn settles in I thought I would take a look at one of my favourite pieces…they cosy knit. I love being able to feel cocooned and warm in a soft knit. Plus, they are not just for throwing on with skinny jeans and a pair of boots. They can be worn for work, rest and play.

I was sent a couple of jumpers by Hush (the Cashmere Rollneck Jumper in Wine Marl and the Rock and Roll Jumper). Over the years I have collected a few Hush cashmere jumpers and wear them continuously throughout the year (they wash and wear fabulously). The rollneck is a constant staple in Winter and I have a grey one from last year so I thought this year a brighter red would make a change from my usual neutral colours. As for the Rock and Roll Jumper I admit it is a bit ironic for a mum of three who loves a glass of wine and an historical biography in the evenings but it is so snuggly and simple (so easy to team with different outfits) I think its going to be a favourite as Winter draws in.

When I purchase pieces I always think about different ways I can wear it to make sure I will get good use out of it and it will become a wardrobe must have so I thought I would show you how I will be wearing these cosy knits as the months pass.

Layering a knit over a maxi dress is an instant way to create a new look. Whether wearing either of the two big trends this Autumn/Winter, floral or animal print I find they work equally as well (both the dresses I am wearing in these photos are from Hush here).

A knit can also make a great outfit for a dinner out put with leather leggings and heels (these are faux leather from Zara but I have written a post on other fab options which you can read here – the Zara ones feature in it!).

Satin skirts are also featuring heavily this Autumn/Winter and they can easily be adapted to daywear with trainers and a cosy knit over the top. When it gets really chilly you can swap trainers for tights and boots. The satin dress I am wearing here can be found at Zara here.

I was gifted the sweaters by Hush however all opinions, writing and images are my own.
