We are all more than aware of what we do, buy and consume affects the planet around us and is putting pressure on future generations There are often many small changes we can make so that in the long term, the impact we have on the environment is reduced. Here are just a few changes which we could make within our own and our families beauty regimes to reduce waste.
Reuseable Bamboo Cotton Pads by Huku – using these will cut down on single use cotton pads. Plus these ones are from the UK to cut down on air miles.
Sage and Bergamont Shampoo Bar by Earth Kind – shampoo bars are back! Better formulas for different hair needs with less packaging.
Recyclable Electric Toothbrush Heads by Live Coco- I love that I have found these! Most of us have electric toothbrushes and these are compatible with Oral B toothbrushes.
Face Cleansing Bars by Drunk Elephant -using less plastic and still good for the sin, these soap bars are designed especially for the face and include plenty of nourishing ingredients whilst making sure the face is left clean and soft.
Natural Deodorant Stick by Schimdt – it is really hard to find a natural deodorant which actually works but last Summer I came across Schmidt. Although it is housed in a plastic container (it is recyclable and as a little goes a long way…the stick lasts 6 months for me). It is free of aluminium, propylene glycol, parabens and phthalates making it safe for your skin and the environment.
Mouthwash by Waken – housed in a recyclable aluminium bottle to reduce the need for a large plastic container.
Reusable Tampon Applicator Set by Dame – OK, so this is not something you maybe want to shout about but this brand takes away the need for having to dispose of multiple plastic tampon applicators. The applicator is self sterilising (rinse and you’re done) and separate tampons can be purchased to suit your needs.
Hair Conditioner by Bain & Savon – I realise this may not be the easiest product to use in the shower but the glass jar eliminates the need for plastic…plus the jar can be used after the conditioner has been finished ( I rather like this project here to do with the kids).
