February Favourites

After January seeming to go on and on and on, here we are at the end of February with warmer days and the promise of Spring in the air with snowdrops and crocus making an appearance. With the end of the month, i thought I’d put together a post of what I have loved this month, similar to last month’s (which you can read here).

Appleton Half-Zip Pullover by Varley – I lived in this during the first few weeks of February when it was soooo cold. It has also proved great for the early morning Nursery run (and, soon to be school run!). It has sold out on the Varley website although I’ve found a couple of sizes here) in the colour I have but there are a few in the darker shade.

Navy Wax Sports Cap by Barbour – this has been a real winner. It hides the grey hairs which are becoming more abundant and also keeps off the rain when a wooly hat is too hot to wear.

Scalp Massager – this nifty little tool feels just so lovely to use. After I’ve applied shampoo I massage my scalp with this for a couple of minutes (in lieu of a salon scalp massage!) and it helps release tension and basically feels like a little bit of self care whist having my daily shower!

Face Roller by The Body Shop – I’ll be honest, this has sat in my cupboard for a while in it’s box but I decided to give it a go the other week. Oh my goodness, it became quite addictive. It was cool on the skin and helped relieve (more!) tension in my jaw and in between my eyes. I used it over a face oil and it provided a moment of calm.

Super Glow Hyaluronic Self-Tan Serum by Tan Luxe – this is not a new product but I’ve started using it again and I had forgotten how good it is. My skin feels hydrated and soft after applying it plus it provides a subtle bit of colour.

Liquid Mask by Oskia – I have had this for a while but only decided to try it this month…I wish I had tried it sooner! It has lactic acid in it (a gentle acid) which helps exfoliate the skin. This has been great on my Winter skin. I apply it, leave it on a few minutes and then apply a serum and moisturiser over the top before going to bed. At the moment, for the same price as the mask you can also get a travel size Renaissance Cleanser (a cult classic in the skincare world) and Floral Water with the mask in a set here.

3-in-1 Anti-Redness Miracle Formula SPF50 by Rosalique – if you see my Instagram posts, I did a video which included this product. It really does help calm skin and mask redness without being heavy. See it in action here.

Mindful Bathing Salts by Westlab – when I’ve managed to get some time on my own I’ve been adding these to a bath, shutting the door and just pretended homeschooling doesn’t exist! I’m planning on stocking up on these…they are on offer at Boots at the moment.

Wallet by Scamp & Dude – I have been after a new wallet for a while and this new design from Scamp & Dude is so bright and cheery. It has all the compartments I need, is small enough not to weigh down my bag and is bright enough to find whilst rummaging through my bag!

The Hidden Hut Recipe Book – until we can all get away I am looking through this cookbook released by one of Cornwall’s cult restaurants. There are so many recipes to tempt you and it will come into it’s own as Summer approaches. For now I love the Buttermilk Drop Pancakes with Lemon Curd and am planning on trying the St Makes Smoke Haddock Chowder and the Smokey Meatball Gratin with Sourdough Toasts.
