Every season there is a new colour to channel and incorporate into your wardrobe should you choose. This season there seem to be two stand-out colours – lilac and brown. I think brown is a great colour option which is often overlooked. It may seem a bit burgh and mud-like but it isn’t as harsh as black and is often more flattering on most skin tones. Here are a few pieces showing brown could be the new black (well, for this season anyway!).
Accordion Pleat Skirt by Zara – satin skirts are a brilliant way to glam up a daytime look. Team with a chunky knit and trainers and voila! Or, for evening I think the above look has a great spin on a sparkly Christmas outfit.
Chenille Sweater by Mango – this latte colour knit can be layered over leopard print to soften the look. The perfect shade if you’re not too sure on brown as a wardrobe option.
Knee High Boots by H&M – these have a slight Gucci vibe about them. They will go with maxi dresses and jeans alike.
Striped Jumper by Acne Studios – this is crying out to go for an Autumnal walk followed by a lunch in some gorgeous country pub.
Maretta Trousers by Baukjen – I absolutely LOVE how these almost gold/brown corduroy trousers have been styled. Im trying not to buy anything new this month but these are chipping away at my willpower!
Cable Knit Jumper by Winser – a very sophisticated piece which will last from season to season.
Pleated Midi Skirt by Modern Rarity – Modern rarity are great for on trend, simple, classic designs. This skirt is in the softest of caramel tones and would go well with black, navy and burgundy.
Sasha Jumper by Boden – putting a bit of sexy mama into the knit. This sweater could have a sparkly top peeping out of the back for a evening look or a silk cami to add interest.
Double Breasted Wool Coat by Marks & Spencer – a true classic and a fab price if you are looking for a real wardrobe staple.
Velvet Dress by Marks & Spencer – velvet is a perfect fabric for Autumn/ Winter and this is a different take on a little black dress.
