I came across The Little Eco Society when researching gifts for my blog post on “Gifts That Give Back” (see here). The company was founded in 2019 by friends Louise and Lottie to find ways to reduce our wasteful impact on the environment.
Part of the range includes a “Go Crackers” activity box which allows for little hands to make crackers ready for Christmas Day. I was kindly sent a box to try out with Harry, Teddy and Hettie. We had a pyjama day over the weekend and the kids got stuck into making the kit ready for the big day ahead.
The kit comprises everything required to produce crackers which are environmentally sound and fun to make (you just have to add a bar of your favourite chocolate to make the treats to go inside the crackers). Minimal adult intervention is needed which makes these a fab activity for over the Christmas break.
Unsurprisingly the part the kids enjoyed the most was making (and quality testing!) the chocolates (the bonus being the mould can be reused again and again and are BPA free – they can even be used for little jelly shapes, festive ice cubes or wax melts). Harry, with the help of Hettie wrote some jokes on the plantable seed paper and Teddy helped with rolling up the crackers ready to be used.
The cracker kit would make a fab addition to a Christmas Eve box to keep little ones busy or simply as a Christmasy bit of fun, whilst supporting a small independent brand. You can find the kit here…happy making and tasting!
I was gifted the cracker activity kit by The Little Eco Society but all images and thoughts are my own.
